A message from Dr. Erlene Chiang, Director of Wen Wu School
Talk yourself into doing it!
Dear Students,
This year Wen Wu School is emphasizing a theme that is simple, powerful, and life-changing:"Talk yourself into doing it."
Too often we talk ourselves out of what we truly want—more practice, more connection, more growth, more community, more energy, etc.—not because we can’t, but because life, fear, habits, or tiredness quietly take over. WWS Challenge: This year try gently talking yourself into doing one small positive action at a time.
For instance:
· Come to class one extra day.
· Try something new you’ve been curious about.
· Smile more during practice.
· Say hello to a classmate you don’t yet know.
· You don’t need to be perfect. You only need to show up.
Every time you talk yourself into a positive action, you strengthen more than your body. You strengthen your will, your confidence, and your trust in yourself and especially your QI!
Practicing martial arts, Qigong or Taiji (just to name a few practices) is not about perfection. It is about showing up — again and again — until the practice becomes part of who you are.
This year, when fear, old habits, or laziness begin to speak, listen politely and then . . . talk yourself into doing it anyway.
I look forward to walking this journey with you.
With warmth and encouragement,
Dr. Erlene Chiang, Director of Wen Wu School
