WWS: Deep Friendships & Enduring Family

As the close of 2024 and the Year of the Dragon draws near, an impulse towards quiet reflection predominates. I am fortunate I know, to be wrapped in a blanket of gratitude that is both comforting and grounding, and I owe a lot of that to Grandmaster Hui Liu and Shifu Chiang because of their dedication to share the wisdom, teachings, and practices of their teachers, and generations of wisdom that came before them. Because of Grandmaster and Sifu’s extraordinary efforts cultivating Wen Wu School as an extended family here in the USA, many of us were gifted with inner strength, discipline and insights that are sure to be helpful during the tumultuous, unpredictable times ahead. I am grateful for the breadth of practices continuing to be offered at WWS, sustaining Shifu Chiang and Grandmaster Hui Liu’s legacy and especially grateful to observe so many spontaneous friendships that continue to proliferate, deepen and grow over time.

As a student of Life, I’ve often pondered questions like: What brings people together? What keeps them apart? I haven’t discovered any hard and fast answers yet, but I do have inklings. And recently I’ve begun to think that Grandmaster Yang Meijun’s main message to us provides a key for each of us to find our own answers. May each of you be blessed by your good heart, good intentions and your willingness to find your own Way.

Many thanks . . . and Happy New Year.
