Jerri Miner: 2025 WWS Retirement

Grandmaster Yang Meijun gives blessings and qi to Jerri Miner. 2001 WWS China trip

When I was young, people who “retired” seamed old. Little did I know that retirement often meant just living another chapter in one’s life—hopefully with more life experience and wisdom. I am lucky to have retired from three jobs that I loved. The first ending was 25 years as an Adapted Physical Education Teacher in Richmond USD schools. The second was 10 years at Solano College, also as an Adapted PE instructor. And now after 25 years I am retiring from being the Monday evening lead qigong teacher at Wen Wu School of Martial Arts

I have made many lifelong friends, while studying the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine first as a student then as a teacher. With dedicated practice it has helped my body heal from various conditions often associated with aging.

I have been lucky to have wonderful assistant teachers with me (Mary Law, Maureen Berndt, Debbie Zaragoza, Jocelyn Pare and Rich Huss). I will miss my students as Monday evenings approach. Many thanks to them all.

Now I can add the word “retirement” to some of those other wonderful words like Rediscover, Redo, Rerun, Repeat.
